The following project is to be awarded a PhD studentship:
The Use of Advanced Techniques to Characterise Crack Tip Shielding.

The Studentship is for three years from 1 October 2011 and covers Home/EU tuition fees and a stipend. Overseas candidates are invited to apply only if they can cover the difference between Home/EU and Overseas fees (approx. £9,250 p.a.)
